Igloo Vision is a leading specialist in immersive 360° virtual reality (VR) solutions. Able to take VR, which is seen as a personal, individual experience, the company have developed several innovative solutions to create a shared event that doesn’t have a need for headsets. Innovating for over a decade, Igloo Vision has seen exponential growth securing investment from a variety of sources including several rounds from FDC. In 2020, Igloo Vision was also featured as one of the UK’s fastest-growing private technology companies in The Sunday Times’s Tech Track 100. From Clun Valley Headquartered in the quaint market town of Craven Arms, Shropshire, the firm started life in 2007 as a group of technically-minded enthusiasts working to enhance the music festival scene. Igloo Vision has since grown to explore the wider applications of projections systems around the world. Once deemed as excessively expensive, businesses are now able to utilise fully the capabilities and adaptabilities of projection systems for their offices and events due to Igloo Vision’s innovative software developments. With over 10 years’ experience and 6 global offices, Igloo Vision makes £9million in sales revenue annually, with a 49% average three-year sales growth. Since 2007, they have delivered over 500 events and installations in 22 different countries. In February 2019, they secured investment to support their international expansion plans as they grew their chain of sales and demonstration centres. Since this investment, Igloo Vision now has an eclectic list of clients including Microsoft, PwC, BP, BBC and Deloitte to mention a few. Igloo Vision’s latest £2.75m investment from the FDC Debt Fund supports the firms further international growth plans and product launches. Their new immersive meeting room product can project 360° imagery regardless of surface, size or shape, simulating experiences across rooms worldwide allowing for global team collaboration, especially poignant with today’s restrictions. The cutting technology has already secured contracts from Facebook and Saudi Aramco. The COVID-19 pandemic has also created a surge of enquires to use Igloo Vision’s technologies within the education industry. They have created over 30 education installations all over the world as a resource to support student learning. An example can be seen in the University of Adelaide, utilising an “Immersion Room” to help medical students experience live hospital procedures during the pandemic.
