Thank you for attending the FDC Sportive event

After the success of our first cycling sportive last year, on Thursday 7th September we decided to do it all again; this time bigger and better. And this year we included a walking route for those who didn’t want to hop on a bike and cycle the 70km around the picturesque roads of Cannock Chase.

With over 50 people gathered at South Staffordshire Sailing Club, the weather was certainly on our side to cheer our cyclists and walkers on.

Setting off at 9:30, the cyclists took to the roads on a 4-hour circular route following our FDC leaders while the walkers headed to the nearby canal to follow the narrowboats as they sailed by.

We would like to thank Pizza Al Forno (https://pizzaalforno.net/) for providing the lunchtime catering. A local, family-run business based in Staffordshire who use fresh ingredients to create made-to-order pizzas using their mobile wood-fired oven.

Thank you to South Staffordshire Sailing Club (https://www.southstaffssailingclub.co.uk/) for once allowing us to use your facilities as a base and run the much needed bar to quench the thirst of our attendees.

And a final thank you to our attendees and the FDC team for making this event another memorable occasion. Look out next year for your invite as we look forward to hosting you again. Please feel free to share any photos taken on LinkedIn and look to share next year’s event with your colleagues.

Fingers crossed for sunshine in September 2024.
